Survey of Business Leaders
The Talent Foundation asked one hundred c-level executives
of large and rising medium sized companies questions on:
- The War for Talent
- Human Potential and Talent Development
- Innovation
- Skills and attitudes
The results provide a snapshot of what business leaders
think and what challenges they face. Human potential is a hot
topic at present and the views of our respondents were as
follows:
Human Potential and Talent Development
Respondents were divided as to whether there is a limit to
an individual's potential or not. A massive 82%, however,
stated that they had not as yet developed their own potential.
The majority (86%) of respondents stated they have frequent
opportunities to develop their potential.
Nearly three quarters judged that they knew the potential
of the people who worked for them. And it's good news on the
developing people front, since again three quarters stated
that they work in organisations that provide equal
opportunities for everyone to develop their potential.
Just over two-thirds stated that their organisation invests
most in those with high potential. But over a third stated
that they don't have the right people working in their
organisations. Does this mean that people's potential is
limited? Or that it is wrongly directed? Or just that it
hasn't been developed yet?
So, how does your thinking compare to our respondents?
The answers from the survey show that The Talent
Foundation's work is relevant in helping to solve the problems
emerging in today's fast paced world.
